BWACO: Over 40 years of building a clean water brand

The Ba Ria – Vung Tau Water Supply JSC (BWACO) carries the essential mission of providing clean water to serve daily life as well as the economic and social development of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

BWACO has built a strong reputation through its remarkable achievements and consistent commitment to quality and innovation.

Over 40 Years of Growth and Development

BWACO, formerly known as Dong Nai Drilling and Water Supply Company, was established on April 19, 1982. After more than 40 years of operation and growth, BWACO now manages four water treatment plants and five affiliated enterprises, providing clean water for domestic and industrial use to over 200,000 customers across Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, with a total designed capacity of approximately 240,000 cubic meters per day.

Since its founding, the company has continuously expanded in scale, capacity, and technology. Its water supply network now covers urban, rural, island, and industrial areas throughout the province. Total water supply capacity has increased to hundreds of thousands of cubic meters per day and night, with several modern, nationally standardized water plants. BWACO is also a pioneer in digital transformation, applying technology in operations management, customer service, and network monitoring.

Its team of engineers, staff, and technicians are regularly trained to improve technical skills, professional capacity, and community responsibility.

BWACO also maintains meaningful social initiatives such as the “Vu Lan Rice Donation” program for underprivileged households, the elderly, and people with disabilities; charitable kitchens, and support for disadvantaged families.

Over the past 40 years, BWACO has stayed true to its values of learning, innovation, and service, with customer satisfaction at its core. The company continues to improve water quality, enhance customer service, and ensure safe, reliable water supply for residents and businesses — earning recognition from both customers and local authorities.

Innovation, Technology, and Digital Transformation

According to BWACO’s leadership, science, technology, and digital transformation have always been key to improving management efficiency and service quality while meeting the growing demands of citizens and businesses.

BWACO is proud to be among the first in Viet Nam’s water sector to integrate AI and ChatGPT technology into its customer care system through a smart chatbot assistant. The company considers customer satisfaction its top priority and continuously digitalizes its customer communication channels, including the BWACO Customer Care App and automated call center, ensuring quick, accurate, and transparent service delivery.

Within its corporate culture of “innovation and development”, BWACO encourages employees to enhance their skills through internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions. These programs not only improve work quality but also help staff stay updated with new trends, develop professionally, and adapt to the evolving demands of society.

In May 2025, BWACO introduced two upgraded digital solutions — the BWABOT smart assistant and the BWAGIS system — reflecting its commitment to modernization and technological leadership.

Alongside business growth, BWACO places strong emphasis on community responsibility. Its long-running “Journey of Knowledge” program at the Ho Da Den Water Plant has been held annually since 2009, welcoming tens of thousands of students from Ba Ria – Vung Tau to learn about water conservation and environmental protection.

The company has also adopted modern technological solutions across all production and business processes — from water source management and purification to distribution and customer service. Key applications include:

  • Automation in production: Water treatment plants are equipped with SCADA systems for remote monitoring and control, ensuring safe, precise, and cost-effective operation.
  • Digital management systems: BWACO has implemented ERP, CRM, e-invoicing, and internal management applications to optimize workflows and enhance transparency.
  • Smart utilities: The company is deploying smart meters, e-billing, online payments, and real-time data connectivity, building an intelligent, flexible, and customer-centered enterprise model.
  • Online customer service: Through its mobile app and e-portal, customers can check bills, make payments, and send requests easily — especially convenient during the pandemic.

BWACO also partners with domestic and international organizations to access advanced technologies while training internal personnel to effectively manage and operate them.

Thanks to these efforts, BWACO has improved service quality, reduced water loss, and reinforced its position as a modern, community-oriented water supply enterprise in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.
