Cat Ba this summer: More than just the sea

With ideal weather, breathtaking nature, and unprecedented top-tier entertainment experiences at the heart of Cat Ba Bay, this summer is making travel enthusiasts restless with excitement.

The world's largest jetski fireworks show arrives

This summer, Cat Ba is no longer just a destination for scenic nature excursions; it is set to explode with world-class entertainment right in the heart of the bay. For the first time ever, 20 Jetski riders, 8 Flyboarders, and 3 Jazzer performers (female athletes soaring above the water) in dazzling LED costumes will light up the night sea with thrilling speed, breathtaking aerial flips, dazzling lights, and a magnificent fireworks display. The show, "Symphony of Green Island", is scheduled to premiere in May, running for 30 minutes from 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM throughout the four-month summer season.

A spectacular fusion of water and fireworks, the first in Cat Ba

This grand production is a collaboration between Sun Group and some of the world's biggest names in show production: H2O Events, a global leader in water and fireworks displays with over 30 years of experience producing shows for dozens of theme parks and Hollywood blockbusters like James Bond and Mission Impossible; and LaserVision, an internationally acclaimed company behind Guinness World Record-breaking shows like Imagine at Dubai Festival City and Wonder Full at Marina Bay Sands (Singapore).….

The "Symphony of Green Island" opens with a spectacular fire performance on the beach, followed by exhilarating Jetski stunts and high-powered aerial flips requiring elite technical skills. The grand finale will feature an unprecedented fireworks show never before seen in Vietnam. The event also promises breathtaking light displays, including laser projections and special effects, creating a mesmerizing visual spectacle and an unparalleled experience in the middle of the ocean.

VUI-Fest – The first eco-friendly night market in Hai Phong

After sunset, besides enjoying the sensational performances, visitors can explore an all-in-one entertainment and culinary space right by the sea, open from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM at the Central Pier. VUI-Fest Green Market is designed as an eco-friendly marketplace, with all stalls utilizing sustainable materials.

A brand new nightlife experience at Cat Ba

VUI-Fest Green Market offers an entirely new nighttime experience where visitors can stroll through the cool seaside air while savoring fresh grilled seafood, craft beer from Sun KraftBeer – a first in Northern Vietnam – or shopping for local specialties. Along the coastal streets, vibrant street performances, including acoustic bands, modern dance, living statues, and carnival parades, create an electrifying atmosphere. Creativity lovers can enjoy tarot readings, henna tattoos, portrait sketching, or participate in recycling workshops, while game enthusiasts can test their luck with darts, shooting games, and claw machines. Especially at the sandy beachfront area, visitors can relax while soaking in the festival spirit under the dazzling lights of the night market and the "galaxy" of fireworks from the Jetski show.

Nature’s unrivaled beauty

Summer in Cat Ba – one of the natural treasures of the Gulf of Tonkin – is a time when emerald waters embrace towering limestone karsts and lush ancient forests. The island dons its most vibrant colors, with golden sunlight, tranquil turquoise waves, and silky white sand.

At Lan Ha Bay, early mornings offer an unmissable spectacle. As the sun rises over the horizon, its golden rays glisten on the water, casting a serene and captivating charm. Kayaking through mystical caves, swimming in crystal-clear waters, or drifting along the waves on a boat allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in the bay’s breathtaking beauty.

A paradise for kayaking enthusiasts

Beyond the sea, Cat Ba also entices adventure seekers with trekking experiences in Cat Ba National Park, home to one of Northern Vietnam's richest ecosystems of primeval forests. Wandering through ancient trees, listening to birdsong in the deep green landscape, and occasionally spotting the rare Cat Ba langur leaping through the treetops make visitors feel as though they have stepped into a pristine world. Many travelers also relish the challenge of hiking to the summit of Ngu Lam Peak or Than Cong Fortress, where panoramic views of the vast seascape stretch endlessly to the horizon.

As the sun begins to set, pristine beaches such as Cat Co 2 – hailed as one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful beaches, according to Thrillist and Tung Thu, become the perfect havens for visitors to take a refreshing dip. There is nothing more wonderful than lying on the soft sand, savoring the tranquil moment as the golden sunset bathes the sea in a warm glow.
