Da Nang International Fireworks Festival DIFF 2026 named among the world’s top 9 must-visit festivals

As summer approaches and travelers begin mapping out their journeys, festivals, the magazine notes, are where inspiration begins. And in Asia, Da Nang stands out with its biggest seasonal event, DIFF 2026, transforming the Han River into a multi-week stage of world-class fireworks performances synchronized with music by leading international teams. 

The magazine adds that while mid-summer is often the perfect time to unwind by the riverside, Da Nang has fully embraced that advantage by hosting DIFF. “This festival has become a signature event of the city,” Travel Leisure writes. Beyond dazzling fireworks, DIFF unfolds as an extended celebration, featuring music, street performances, and a lively festive atmosphere along Bach Dang Street and the riverfront.  

Returning with the theme “Da Nang United Horizons” – DIFF 2026 will take place from May 30 to July 11, 2026, featuring five qualifying nights and a grand finale. This year’s festival brings together 10 fireworks teams from 8 countries, showcasing a rich diversity of performance styles and technical artistry, elevating the visual spectacle for audiences.  

Opening night on May 30, themed “Nature,” will see the host team Da Nang, Vietnam face off against China. Night 2 on June 6, themed “Heritage,” features France and Z121 Vina Pyrotech, Vietnam. Night 3 on June 13, themed “Culture,” brings together Japan’s debut team and seasoned Italian performers. Night 4 on June 20, themed “Creative,” showcases Germany and Macau, China. Night 5 on June 27, themed “Vision,” pairs Australia and Portugal. The grand finale will take place on July 11 under the overarching theme “Da Nang – United Horizons.” 

Technology continues to play a central role in elevating the audience experience. DIFF 2026 integrates Sky AR technology, allowing viewers to interact directly with the fireworks-filled sky and personalize their experience on individual devices. A Laser LED system projects light across the Han River and surrounding buildings, turning the entire space into a multi-dimensional stage, while real-time audio technology ensures that audiences can fully enjoy synchronized music and fireworks from any vantage point.

Alongside DIFF, summer in Da Nang is further enriched by experiences at Sun World Ba Na Hills, where the Sun Festival 2026 creates a vibrant, multi-sensory celebration. Here, cuisine and craft beer become the inspiration behind a dynamic lineup of performances, artistic showcases, and interactive activities throughout the season. Visitors can enjoy live “food shows,” join playful acts like “Happy Cleaners Performance” and “Pizza Time,” or dive into international performances and lively minigames such as “Keg Holding” and “Beer King Hunt.” The journey continues through iconic landmarks like the Golden Bridge, Le Jardin D’Amour gardens, and the French Village, along with four newly themed zones, together forming a vivid festival landscape where summer truly comes alive atop Ba Na.  

The combination of a grand fireworks spectacle along the Han River and a citywide festival atmosphere stretching to Ba Na Hills creates a complete summer journey for visitors to Da Nang.
