Tam Nong District (Dong Thap) has implemented the project of organic rice production and crayfish farming according to VietGAP process in the period of 2014 - 2020 to carry out restructuring for crayfish industry. The project aims at modern, sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural production.

In Tam Nong district, raw materials have been formed in the direction of focusing production associated with the consumption of good quality, clean, stable and sustainable products; register logo, exclusive brand of Tam Nong crayfish; sign contracts with enterprises to purchase shrimp at prices beneficial to farmers. The province promotes trade promotion, bringing the crayfish cooperative model associated with the technology transfer model, stabilizing product procurement for farmers.

In Tam Nong district, the communes with a lot of stocking area are Phu Thanh B, Phu Tho, An Long and Tram Chim town. The exported crayfish products will be diversified such as raw crayfish, ice marinated shrimp and frozen shrimp for some potential markets such as China and some ASEAN countries.
