List of 34 provincial and municipal Chairmen for 2026-2031 tenure

Chairmen of provincial/municipal People’s Committees are the heads of local executive authorities in Viet Nam, responsible for organizing and ensuring the effective implementation of the Constitution, laws, and policies of the State at the provincial, district, or communal level. 

They oversee the formulation and execution of socio-economic development plans, state budget management, land administration, and public service delivery within their respective administrative boundaries. 

As the chief administrators, chairmen assign tasks to vice chairmen and relevant departments, coordinate inter-agency work, and ensure administrative efficiency and discipline. They also play a key role in maintaining national defense, security, and social order in their locality, while addressing citizens’ complaints and petitions, promoting transparency, and being accountable to both higher-level authorities and the local People’s Council./.
