The General Secretary welcomed the Asian Business Council's organization of the Spring Forum 2026 in Hanoi on the theme "Asia and the Future of Global Supply Chains," in the context of the restructuring and shifting of global supply chains; digital transformation and artificial intelligence emerging as new infrastructures for production and trade. In this context, businesses play a crucial role in shaping new value chains, promoting trade, investment, technology, and data flows, connecting economies more effectively, sustainably, inclusively, and with greater resilience to challenges and crises.

He applauded the council’s initiative to host the Spring Forum 2026 on Asia and the future of global supply chains in Ha Noi, noting that it comes at a time when global supply chains are undergoing significant restructuring and shifts.

Digital transformation and artificial intelligence, he said, are emerging as new foundations of production and trade, while businesses play a pivotal role in shaping new value chains; driving flows of trade, investment, technology, and data; and fostering more efficient, sustainable, inclusive and resilient economic connectivity in the face of global challenges and crises.

Emphasizing that Vietnam's economy is a socialist-oriented market economy under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the management of the State, the General Secretary shared Vietnam's development achievements and major orientations aimed at creating a stable, transparent, and highly adaptable environment, making Vietnam a strategic destination for global investment capital and a center for science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

He stressed that the 14th National Party Congress has set out a long-term vision anchored in a new development model built on five strategic pillars—completing a modern, transparent, and highly predictable institutional framework; developing synchronized and modern infrastructure; fostering high-quality human resources; developing science, technology, and innovation as the main growth drivers; mastering advanced technologies; and promoting green and sustainable development based on a green and inclusive economy and society.

In this process, Vietnam identifies the private sector as the most important growth engine; the foreign-invested economy is an important part of the economy, treated equally, encouraged to develop sustainably and cooperatively, and to compete fairly with other economic sectors.

On this occasion, the General Secretary thanked and welcomed the practical statements and proposals at the meeting, which demonstrated the concern, understanding, and aspirations of businesses regarding the Vietnamese market and economy. He affirmed that he would encourage Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs to continue expanding cooperation and business linkages with foreign businesses and would direct Vietnamese agencies from the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, as well as agencies within the political system, to create the most favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs to grow stronger, expand international cooperation, and rise to the level of regional and international businesses in the global supply chain.

Arif P. Rachmat, Chairman of the Asian Business Council, expressed admiration for Viet Nam’s recent socio-economic achievements, congratulated the successful outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress, and voiced strong confidence in the country’s potential and strategic development direction in the new era.

Delegates highlighted Viet Nam’s strengths in attracting foreign investment, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the country’s faster and smarter development in the new development phase.

They pledged to expand both scale and scope of their investments in Vietnam, with priorities including infrastructure development, artificial intelligence, green and clean energy, smart agriculture, supporting industries, logistics, software, and financial services—sectors expected to contribute to enhancing Vietnam's position.
