Phu Quoc receives international praise as the family-friendly destination

Recently, some of the world’s most famous travel guides such as Lonely Planet and The Culture Trip have named Phu Quoc among the most wonderful and family-friendly destinations, thanks to its beautiful and safe beaches, a wide range of fun activities, and resorts that cater to all budgets.

The natural beauty of Kem Beach – top 50 most beautiful beaches on the planet – attracts millions of visitors to Phu Quoc

In its list of 13 Best Family-Friendly Destinations in Asia, the UK-based travel guide The Culture Trip described Phu Quoc as “a wonderful destination for families seeking a relaxing time by the sea in Vietnam.” The image of sunny days, children playing along the sandy shores, adults sunbathing and enjoying the sunset together has made the island a symbol of warm tropical holidays.

According to the British travel guide, Phu Quoc offers everything that family travelers look for: beautiful and well-equipped beaches, opportunities to connect with nature through activities such as squid fishing at night, educational experiences at the Coi Nguon Museum, and visits to pearl farms and pepper plantations.

Not only that, to illustrate Phu Quoc, The Culture Trip used the image of Sunset Town, one of the island’s iconic destinations developed by Sun Group. Here, visitors can let their children enjoy fireworks twice every evening from the Guinness World Record-winning show Kiss of the Sea or watch Symphony of the Sea featuring jetski, flyboard and laser performances. Sunset Town is also home to exciting street performances that encourage interaction and are friendly to children, as well as the lively VUI-Fest Bazaar and the bustling Sunset Bazaar filled with delicious food that appeals to every age group.

Apart from The Culture Trip, another famous travel guide known as the “bible for global travelers” – Lonely Planet – also praised Phu Quoc as a family-friendly destination, suitable for those traveling with children.

“Phu Quoc is an excellent choice, with great infrastructure, beautiful beaches and resorts for every budget,” Lonely Planet noted. One experience the guidebook highlighted as a must-try for all visitors is hopping on Hon Thom Cable Car – the world’s longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom Island.

Across the sea, the cable car takes families to the entertainment paradise Sun World Hon Thom, featuring themed zones such as Exotica Village and Aquatopia Water Park, one of Asia’s leading water parks with giant slides and a lazy river where families can spend the entire day without getting bored.

In addition, the American travel guide affirmed that with the growing number of direct international flights, travelers can now reach Phu Quoc without transiting through other destinations in Vietnam. Currently, Pearl Island welcomes about 30 international flights a day from various markets such as South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Russia and CIS countries. This number is expected to increase in November and December this year as more charter flights from India and Eastern Europe are added.

Positive reviews from reputable global travel guides once again reaffirm Phu Quoc’s special appeal on the international tourism map in recent years, following a series of prestigious awards the Pearl Island has recently received, such as being named Asia’s Most Beautiful Island and among the Top 3 in the World by Condé Nast Traveler, as well as one of the Top 4 Hottest Destinations for 2026 by Expedia.

With its beautiful and safe beaches, an ever-expanding ecosystem of leisure and resort experiences, and countless activities for all ages, Pearl Island has become the ideal choice for families from around the world seeking a perfect and one-of-a-kind vacation experience.
