Revealing the stage of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2025

As the first days of May unfold, the atmosphere surrounding the preparations for the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2025 becomes increasingly vibrant. Among the most anticipated elements for locals and tourists alike is the grand stage taking shape on the eastern bank of the Han River, where dazzling firework competitions will be paired with spectacular live concerts.  

The high-tech and super-scaled live stage 

Located on Tran Hung Dao Street as in previous years, the DIFF 2025 stage boasts not only a prime central location but also an impressive “super-sized” structure. According to organizers, this year’s stage spans a massive 1,605.8 m², 60% larger than that of DIFF 2024. With an open design and a width twice that of last year, it is considered one of the most expansive stages in the 15-year history of the fireworks festival in Da Nang.  

Beyond its size, the DIFF 2025 stage receives a significant investment in advanced performance technologies. The highlight is a state-of-the-art mechanical system featuring five large-scale lifting domes. The central dome alone measures 21 meters wide, nearly double last year’s, flanked by two 18.5-meter wings and two additional domes by the riverbank, offering dynamic stage configurations. The fusion of vast space and mechanical engineering enables a multi-layered, immersive performance environment. 

Next comes the latest generation of LED flooring, enhancing the audience’s visual experience and optimizing visibility from every seat. Upgraded surround sound technology ensures an audio experience fit for both fireworks and live concerts. 

This year, Augmented Reality (AR) will also be integrated into the Sun Paradise Land (SPL) app, allowing guests to interact with and experience fireworks through their smartphones—a new and exciting evolution in DIFF’s audience engagement.

A tribute to Da Nang’s natural wonders

With the theme “Da Nang – The New Era,” DIFF 2025 brings together ten world-class teams from Vietnam, Finland, the UK, Portugal, Poland, South Korea, Italy, Canada, and China. It marks not only the longest-running edition in DIFF history but also commemorates the 50th anniversary of Da Nang’s liberation—embodying the city’s aspirations for growth and prosperity.

Accordingly, the DIFF 2025 stage is crafted as a symbolic tribute to the radiant beauty of the Han River city. Inspired by Da Nang’s iconic natural landscapes, the stage reimagines the image of Marble Mountains beside the vast sea, with a luminous pearl centerpiece symbolizing the city’s ambition to shine. The imagery of mountains embracing waves reflects harmony and unity, echoing the message of a “new era” that DIFF 2025 aims to share with residents and visitors.
