The Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee proposed the establishment of a representative office of VCCI for the Northwest region in Lao Cai province.
“With many favorable conditions in terms of geopolitical and economic position, as well as receiving the support of central ministries and branches in developing Lao Cai into a growth pole, a center for connecting trade between Vietnam and ASEAN countries and with the Southwest region of China, Lao Cai province proposes VCCI establish a branch in the province," Mr. Truong suggested.
On the other hand, in order to improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), thereby improving the quality of the local business environment, Mr. Truong asked for VCCI’s advice and support and sign a cooperation program between the two sides.
Chairman Trinh Xuan Truong pledged that Lao Cai province will implement investment incentive policies and create all the most favorable conditions to support domestic and foreign investors and businesses in the province.
Appreciating the suggestions of the Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong hailed the efforts of the authorities, businesses and people of Lao Cai province in trying to overcome difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic to achieve positive results in 2021 and proposed that the two sides work together to select specific areas in the cooperation program.
VCCI President Pham Tan Cong assessed that there is still big room for local development as the province has the advantage of a geopolitical position and the determination of the government in building a favorable business investment environment. “VCCI will coordinate with and support the province to build programs to attract investment and develop businesses; thereby building a transparent investment environment, creating favorable conditions for domestic and foreign businesses,” affirmed VCCI President Cong.
