Vietnam electronics and smart appliances expo connects global tech and innovation

The Vietnam International Electronics and Smart Appliances Expo 2025 (IEAE) opened today (October 30) at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center, attracting around 15,000 visitors, businesses and technology experts.

Running until November 1, the three-day event covers 6,000 square meters with more than 260 exhibitors and over 350 booths. The modern exhibition layout features a wide range of products in consumer electronics, home appliances and electronic components.

New devices on display include smart speakers, headphones, smartwatches, smart glasses, circuit boards and sensors.

In the home appliance section, products such as smart rice cookers, ovens, air purifiers, robotic vacuum cleaners and personal care devices are gaining attention for their innovative designs and eco-friendly features.

Booths showcasing phone accessories, tablets, gaming equipment and computers also stand out with new designs following the green consumption trend.

Designed to promote global cooperation, the expo features a B2B (business-to-business) matching program that connects buyers and manufacturers to evaluate products and discuss future partnerships. This program serves as a key platform for forming investment agreements and expanding international supply chains, linking Vietnam’s growing electronics industry with the global market.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, To Ngoc Son, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Department of Overseas Market Development, said that IEAE introduces advanced products and technologies.

"The event helps Vietnamese companies meet potential partners, understand market needs, explore cooperation opportunities and identify global trends to strengthen their competitiveness," said Son.

Son said the ministry encourages Vietnamese firms to work with foreign partners in producing smart components, devices and software to increase localization rates and enhance product value.

He added that the electronics industry should follow a “green, smart and sustainable” development path to help Vietnam achieve its goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.

“We will continue to support and create favorable conditions for enterprises so the electronics and smart device sector can become a new economic driver,” he said.

The Vietnamese government has identified electronics as a strategic industry and a key pillar in the country’s industrialization and modernization process. In recent years, Vietnam has become a major manufacturing hub in Asia, attracting leading global corporations and thousands of supporting enterprises in the supply chain.

Vietnam has also developed a National Strategy for Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) until 2030, focusing on building a high-quality workforce for the AI ecosystem. The strategy aims to make Vietnam one of the leading countries in ASEAN and among the world’s top 50 in AI research, development and application by 2030.
