Demanding markets such as Korea, Japan, Dubai are increasingly favoring Vietnamese banana products.

Mr. Vo Quang Thuan , representative of Huy Long An Co., Ltd. said that Vietnamese bananas are quite competitive in foreign markets. If this product was only exported to China in the past, it is now favored by both difficult countries. Specifically, after 6 months of negotiations with Japanese enterprises, directly leading customers to visit the production process and try products, between five banana shipments of the company are exported to Japan at good prices.

"Every day the company exports 2-3 containers (16-20 tons a container) of fresh bananas to Japan by sea. All these goods are sold at 6 Japanese supermarkets such as Don Kihote, Daiei, Aeon ...", Mr. Thuan said.

According to Mr. Thuan, all bananas are cultivated by the company on an area of 200 hectares in Long An and Tay Ninh with strict process. When the banana flower has about 10 bounces, workers must break the cotton to prevent the fruit being left. Each banana is cut off the excess flowers at the tip so that the fruit is beautiful and even. Bananas after harvesting are cleaned of dust, disinfected, wiped dry, thinly lined between two layers of the same bounce so as not to be darkened into plastic bags, vacuumed, stacked in boxes to put in cold storage, before following the container to the port of transportation abroad. In 2017, the company exported about 10,000 tons of bananas.

Also said that an agreement has been reached since 2016, representatives of the banana production facility in Long An said that the company's bananas are also exporting to Japan and Dubai. Domestic, sold in Big C, Satra. In order to export to these difficult markets, bananas of the company grow by region and strictly controlled, on products with stamps and labels for distributors to trace their origins. In the near future, the company will expand its planting area to meet domestic and foreign needs," said a representative of the facility.

Mr. Le Sy Cong, Director of La Ba Da Lat Company (Lam Dong) said that bananas are attracting customers not only domesticly but also abroad, but the source of aviation is not enough to supply. In the first months of the year, his company's banana laba was only enough to supply the domestic market. Although the Japanese market is in desperate need, aviation is not available for sale.

"We are also planning to supply varieties and link with farmers to grow an additional 100 hectares to supply the domestic market and export. In particular, Japan is one of the potential markets and prefers laba bananas. This type gives good quality, long farming time, so the price is always higher than other bananas and easy to export to the Japanese market", Mr. Cong said.

Besides the above enterprises, many enterprises have conducted research and sought to link with farmers, technical support and seedlings to produce bananas supplied to the market. Most recently, a company specializing in cocoa cultivation based in Ho Chi Minh City is looking for land funds for cultivation and production in a closed chain. However, according to the leader of this business to have a large land fund is not easy, in addition, for the product to be standard and clean, it costs a lot.

According to exporters, the demand for imported bananas of Japan, Dubai, Korea and Middle Eastern markets is quite potential. Therefore, the output of Bananas exported in Vietnam is expanding, especially with high quality products.
