Where to visit during Vietnam’s Tet festival?

Lunar New Year or Tet Holiday is the most important festival in Vietnam. It is the Vietnamese New Year marking the arrival of spring based on the Lunar calendar. This is the best occasion to visit some tourist sites in Vietnam.

Tet takes place from the first day of the first month of the Lunar calendar (around late January or early February) until at least the third day. Vietnamese people prepare for Tet by cooking special holiday foods and cleaning their house. There are a lot of customs practiced during Tet such as ancestor worship, visiting a person’s house on the first day of the new year, wishing New Year’s greetings, giving lucky money to children…

Tet is also an occasion for pilgrims and family res. During Tet, Vietnamese people often visit their relatives, temples and churches; forget the troubles of the past year and hope for a better upcoming year.

Moc Chau is a well-known destination for Tet Holiday.

MOC CHAU

Two hundred kilometers apart from Ha Noi, Moc Chau is a well-known destination for Tet Holiday. The best time to go to Moc Chau is from the end of January to February. We can see plum blossoms and sakura bloom everywhere, making the plateau look like heaven.

SAPA

Another Northern destination! If you come to Vietnam in Tet Holiday and you don’t visit Sapa, it’s such a pity. The breathtaking mountainous scenery of Hoang Lien Son range, the terraced fields on rolling hills, the villages of Highland ethics, the colorfulness of brocade fabric, and especially, the traditional festivals will never let you down!

DALAT

With no doubt, visiting the “City of flowers” in the blooming season is an excellent plan for your Tet Holiday. In the three days of Tet, the whole city is usually crowded. The comfortable weather and tasty dishes in everywhere of this place attract many people to experience. 

You can hire a motorbike and wander around this city to enjoy its unique beauty and of course, Da Lat cherry blossoms. It’s time to relax and pay yourself a retreat.
