Thai Binh Vocational College’s push for high-tech skills

Thai Binh Vocational College is making a remarkable breakthrough, gradually establishing itself as a “center for supplying high-quality human resources.”

A Fresh Wind from Strategic Vision

Speaking with Business Forum Magazine, Dr. Dang Nguyen Manh, Rector of Thai Binh Vocational College, shared that the Party Committee and the Board of Management have proactively pursued comprehensive reforms. From a traditional training institution, the college has shifted strongly toward a model closely aligned with the real demands of the labor market.

Investment in modern facilities and equipment for key faculties such as Automotive Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Precision Mechanics has created an entirely new image for the institution. It is no longer simply a place for learning, but a creative space where students can access advanced technologies from the moment they enter the classroom.

As the world enters the digital and green economy era, perceptions of academic degrees are fundamentally changing. Diplomas are no longer the sole measure of success; instead, practical competence and vocational skills are becoming the true “golden key” enabling young people to confidently build their careers.

Understanding this inevitable trend, Thai Binh Vocational College is undertaking a historic transformation: preparing for the merger of three institutions — Thai Binh Vocational College, To Hieu Hung Yen College of Economics and Technology, and Thai Binh Intermediate Agricultural School — toward the establishment of Hung Yen College under the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee.

This consolidation aims to create a multidisciplinary training hub capable of anticipating high-demand sectors such as semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), automotive technology, and industrial electronics.

Digital Transformation: From Mindset to Breakthrough Action

According to Dr. Dang Nguyen Manh, the highlight of the institution’s transformation lies in its shift in training philosophy. Instead of teaching what the school already has, the institution now focuses on training for what businesses actually need.

Flexible training programmes are continuously updated and integrated with digital and foreign language skills so that students can confidently work in international environments.

The application of smart management software and online learning systems helps optimize interaction between lecturers and students while fostering technological thinking among learners.

The college’s dedicated teaching staff are not only strong in theory but also experienced practitioners who are regularly trained at major enterprises and in countries with advanced vocational education systems.

At Thai Binh Vocational College, digital transformation is no longer a slogan but has become embedded in every aspect of management and teaching. The institution has implemented the iOffice system toward a paperless office model, while utilizing multi-agent AI to analyze reports and develop the TBVC Assistant virtual management support tool.

Notably, the college partnered with Letuin Vietnam Group to organize the programme “Experiencing VR/XR Applications in Semiconductor Practical Training.” This marked the first time students experienced modern VR/XR technology — learning semiconductors in a “virtual world.”

Introducing virtual reality (VR/AR) into practice workshops, enabling students to “touch” virtual components while acquiring real skills.

This represents a breakthrough step in the school’s digital transformation journey and efforts to improve training quality, with ambitions to implement “Smart Classroom” and “Green Workshop” models.

A Strategic Handshake Between School and Business

One of the major achievements affirming the position of Thai Binh Vocational College is its extensive network of enterprise partners. The school has established strategic cooperation with major corporations and industrial parks in the province and neighboring localities.

Thanks to proactive curriculum updates based on enterprise demands and strong direction from Hung Yen Province, the “Training at Enterprises” and “Learning by Doing” models have helped maintain an impressive graduate employment rate: 100% of graduates secure jobs, with 90% working in fields aligned with their training. The institution also commits to employment opportunities at major corporations such as Lotes, Canon, and LG, or overseas employment in Japan, South Korea, and Germany.

Businesses are no longer merely the “end users” of graduates, but have become “partners” accompanying the school from curriculum development to output assessment.

One reason Thai Binh Vocational College has become an attractive destination for students is its practical training philosophy. With a curriculum consisting of 30% theory and 70% practice, students spend up to nine months per year gaining hands-on experience directly at enterprises.

A New Mission in the Province’s Development Journey

Hung Yen Province is currently experiencing a strong wave of investment attraction, with hundreds of high-tech projects each year. The availability of a highly skilled technical workforce has become one of the most important “magnets” for attracting international investors.

Upgrading Thai Binh Vocational College into Hung Yen College is seen as a concrete realization of the spirit of the First Hung Yen Provincial Party Congress Resolution (2025–2030 term) and the 14th National Party Congress Resolution — promoting rapid and sustainable development based on science and technology, innovation, and high-quality human resources.

Standing at the threshold of an “Era of National Rise,” choosing a capable institution and a solid profession is one of the wisest investments for the future. With strategic vision and technological breakthroughs, Thai Binh Vocational College — and in the future, Hung Yen College — is confidently empowering the industrialization and modernization dreams of today’s younger generation.

Hung Yen is facing unprecedented development opportunities through key economic projects, green industrial parks, and growing FDI inflows. In this context, Thai Binh Vocational College is emerging as a key driver in addressing the shortage of highly skilled technical workers.

The institution’s journey of “strong transformation” stands as evidence of the leadership’s agility, determination, and long-term vision. With the strong foundations already built, the school is expected to continue serving as a “lighthouse” guiding future generations.
