FWC 2025 – A bridge for logistics and import-export businesses

The FIATA World Congress (FWC) 2025 will work as a link between logistics companies and manufacturing and import-export businesses with the support of VCCI.

The FIATA delegation and VLA leadership held a working session with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

During a working visit to Vietnam to review the progress of organizing the FIATA World Congress 2025, Stéphane Graber, Director General of FIATA, along with leaders of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), held a meeting with Vo Tan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

In the meeting, Vice President of VCCI expressed his delight at Vietnam’s impressive economic growth of 7.09 percent in 2024 despite global economic challenges and uncertainties. The target for 2025 is 8 percent, with the potential to exceed 10 percent in the coming years.

“To ensure such rapid and sustainable growth, the role of Vietnam’s logistics sector is crucial. The industry currently accounts for 17 to 18 percent of GDP and contributes 25 percent to Vietnam’s GDP growth rate. Among the more than 30,000 logistics enterprises in the country, there is a diverse mix of domestic and foreign-invested (FDI) companies. Recently, the government has placed particular emphasis on promoting the development of the logistics sector, creating favorable conditions for international cooperation among logistics businesses”,  VCCI Vice President emphasized.

In addition to state and private-sector investment in logistics, Vietnam is also attracting FDI in areas such as logistics infrastructure and high-quality workforce training.

VCCI Vice President Vo Tan Thanh was pleased to share Vietnam's impressive growth result of 7.09% in 2024.

Based on this reality, the VCCI Vice President hopes for a stronger partnership between FIATA and VCCI in the coming period, particularly in coordinating and supporting the organization of the FIATA World Congress 2025.

VCCI leaders affirmed their readiness to support FIATA and VLA in successfully organizing the congress. Additionally, VCCI will direct the Business Forum Magazine—its official publication and the media partner for FIATA World Congress 2025—to carry out extensive and effective communication efforts.

At the meeting, Stéphane Graber, Director General of FIATA expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of engaging with VCCI during the delegation’s visit to Ho Chi Minh City. He also highly valued VCCI’s support in organizing the congress.

“We are highly impressed by Vietnam’s economic development in general and its logistics sector in particular. Given Vietnam’s ambitious growth targets, we hope that the FIATA World Congress will contribute to establishing a foundation that drives the country’s development objectives”, said the FIATA Director General.

Mr. Stéphane Graber, Director General of FIATA, affirmed that meeting with VCCI was a crucial part of the delegation's visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

Agreeing with VCCI leaders’ proposals, FIATA Director General emphasized the congress’s role in facilitating discussions and sharing insights to better understand the challenges faced by businesses—not only in logistics but also in the export sector.

Accordingly, FIATA aims to assist Vietnamese exporters in identifying difficulties and finding solutions amid today’s supply chain disruptions.

“This is an excellent opportunity to create a bridge among three key stakeholders: first, Vietnamese and international logistics companies; second, global importers; and third, manufacturers and exporters,” he stated.

In Vietnam, FIATA collaborates with training institutions and VLA, which provides high-level skills training. FIATA also leads numerous initiatives focused on workforce development for the future.
