On the afternoon of February 7, the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association held the conference “Hai Phong – Connecting Resources, Shaping the Future,” summarizing activities in 2025 and at the same time determining development orientations for 2026 and the following period. The conference was attended by representatives of central leadership, leaders of Hai Phong City, ministries, sectors, departments, agencies, professional associations, international organizations, and a large number of member enterprises and partners both domestic and international.

Nguyen The Manh, President of the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association, said that entering 2026, the Association clearly identifies its mission of connecting resources, enhancing enterprise capacity, and contributing to the creation of a sustainable development model for the city.

According to Nguyen The Manh, Hai Phong’s construction sector needs to shift toward modernization, application of high technology, reduction of emissions, efficient use of resources and energy, in line with the orientation of green growth.

On that basis, the Association announced five strategic pillars in the coming period. The first pillar is the development of smart urban areas, symbolic works, and sustainable living spaces, promoting the application of digital technology in design, construction, and operation management of works, aiming toward energy saving and improvement of urban living quality. The second is the development of strategic infrastructure, gradually forming the capacity to master the project value chain, participating more deeply in transport, logistics, urban, and public–private partnership projects.

The third pillar is focusing on the development of high-tech industrial parks and the semiconductor industry, associated with smart manufacturing, research and development, and attraction of high-quality investment. The fourth is the development of high-quality human resources through training and retraining teams of engineers, architects, technology experts, and project management personnel to meet the requirements of smart urban development and high-tech industry. The fifth is promoting the application of technology in construction, healthcare, environment, and urban management, contributing to improving governance efficiency and increasing adaptability to climate change and urban risks.

A notable content at the conference was the introduction of the Project to build the Hai Phong High-Tech Center based on the Pangyo Techno Valley model. The center is oriented to become a place gathering high-tech enterprises, research, training, and innovation organizations, and a space for testing modern urban governance models. This is expected to create new momentum for the process of transforming the city’s growth model toward being based on knowledge and technology.

In the coming time, the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association affirmed that it will continue accompanying the Hai Phong People’s Committee, central ministries and sectors, and domestic and international partners to implement investment promotion activities, attract capital, core technology, and high-quality human resources; gradually forming investment – construction – technology – training – operation alliances, creating a sustainable development foundation for the city’s construction sector.

Speaking at the event, Hoang Quang Phong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), appreciated the role of the Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association over the past year, especially efforts in connecting the business community, accompanying the city government, and proactively participating in policy consultation and feedback.

In the coming time, the Association needs to continue promoting its core role, promoting digital transformation, applying green technology in construction, enhancing the competitiveness of member enterprises, thereby contributing positively to the sustainable development goals of Hai Phong and the country.

The Hai Phong Construction Contractors Association was established and officially launched at the beginning of 2025, as a socio-professional organization gathering enterprises and organizations operating in the construction sector in the city. After one year of operation, the Association has connected hundreds of member enterprises, gradually affirming its role as a bridge between the contractor community and state management agencies and domestic and international partners. The goal of the Association is to strengthen linkages, enhance enterprise capacity, participate in policy consultation and feedback, and accompany Hai Phong in urban and infrastructure development toward modernization and sustainability.
