Opportunity for Quang Ninh to Introduce Investment Potential and Business Opportunities

Within the framework of the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3), Quang Ninh Province and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) co-organized the 2022 Quang Ninh Province Investment Conference themed: "Quang Ninh – Combine the best". The event was designed to introduce, and promote the local potential, advantages, and investment environment.

Delegates to the conference included leaders of VCCI, Ministry of Planning and Investment, ABAC members, business leaders, and representatives of international organizations and foreign investors.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that, coming to Quang Ninh, investors and businesses can benefit from the modern, proactive and dynamic governance. The province has been working tirelessly on reforming the administrative system and improving the investment environment.

Speaking at the Quang Ninh 2022 Investment Promotion Conference, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong said, Quang Ninh has a special strategic location. It is the only local area that has a border with China both on land and sea. Quang Ninh can be seen as a "bridge" linking China with the CPTPP trading bloc and linking China with ASEAN.

"With outstanding achievements in infrastructure development, investment attraction and economic growth, Quang Ninh has always been at the top of the country in terms of economic growth. In the first six months of 2022, although the adverse impact of COVID-19, Quang Ninh still achieved a growth rate of 10.66%. In addition, Quang Ninh has maintained a growth rate of over 10% continuously for the last six years. The quality of economic growth has improved significantly, " applauded VCCI President Cong.

Assessing the business environment, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong said that Quang Ninh has topped the PCI Index ranking for five consecutive years. The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), developed by VCCI and USAID, is designed to assess the ease of doing business, quality of economic governance, and the results of administrative reform efforts by local governments in Vietnam’s 63 provinces and cities to promote private sector development. The favorable business environment has become a trademark and great advantage of Quang Ninh, making it an attractive destination for domestic and foreign businesses. The top ranking in the country in PCI shows that Quang Ninh has a proactive, dynamic, efficient, and friendly government that is dedicated to businesses and investors.
