We have every reason to be proud of projects of international stature, such as the Viet Nam National Exposition Centre with the world’s largest steel dome – over 56 metres high, 360 metres in diameter, and weighing more than 24,000 tonnes of steel – designed and built by Vietnamese engineers and workers in just ten months; the 55-storey Saigon Marina International Financial Centre with over 106,000 square metres of floor space; as well as Gia Binh International Airport, Rach Mieu Bridge 2, and many others.

Beyond the highly impressive total investment of nearly 1.3 trillion VND (49.3 billion USD), these initiatives span all regions and sectors, with broad participation from different economic actors.

These are significant strategic undertakings, representing not only the fruits of collective efforts to overcome difficulties but also symbols of the nation’s development aspirations and determination to advance. They provide a solid foundation for driving the country’s economy towards 8% growth this year and double-digit growth in the years ahead.

According to the Ministry of Construction, since the beginning of the current term, the urbanisation rate has increased by 5.6% to 45%; the proportion of urban residents with access to clean water has risen by 3% to 94%; and the average housing floor area has reached 26.6 square metres per person, up 2.2 square metres.

From 2021 to the present, Viet Nam has implemented 692 social housing projects with approximately 634,000 units, working towards the target of one million units for low-income earners by 2030. The nation has also removed more than 334,200 temporary and dilapidated houses, fulfilling the target more than five years ahead of schedule.

In the hearts of the people, these are indeed special national schemes, embodying the Party’s wishes and the people’s hearts.

To achieve today’s results, the Prime Minister, together with ministries, sectors, and localities, has launched emulation movements that both encourage and serve as directives for relevant units, organisations, and individuals to strive with determination and exceptional efforts, actively innovating in approaches and methods, while proactively overcoming both objective and subjective challenges.

Tens of thousands of engineers and workers on construction sites have worked tirelessly, ready to sacrifice personal comfort and interests, overcoming hardships to bring projects to completion on schedule while ensuring quality.

These initiatives embody the Party and State’s vision and policies of building modern, integrated strategic infrastructure, creating new development spaces, and breakthroughs in economic and regional connectivity.

At the same time, they demonstrate the shared commitment of the political system, the people and enterprises, reflecting the mettle and maturity derived from the self-reliant and industrious spirit of the nation, and creating programmes bearing the distinct imprint of the Vietnamese people.

The head of government has expressed confidence that, in this special atmosphere, with heroic spirit and exceptional efforts, we will continue to create projects and achievements of profound significance, successfully implementing the two centennial goals set forth.

The heroic spirit of the August Revolution will continue to inspire millions of Vietnamese to join hands in solidarity, determined to complete the key national projects launched on this occasion ahead of schedule. They also aspire towards other major endeavours such as the North-South High-Speed Railway, nuclear power plants, high-tech centres, and digital transformation hubs, making our nation stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world, as beloved President Ho Chi Minh always desired.
