The Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Choi Young Sam, expressed gratitude for the VCCI's role and efforts in fostering economic cooperation between the two nations' business communities during a meeting with the VCCI team headed by VCCI President Ho Sy Hung.
Mr. Choi Young Sam underlined that VCCI plays a significant role in linking businesses, and encouraging economic collaboration, making it a valuable partner of Korean organizations and companies in Vietnam.
VCCI's strong involvement, in particular, helped to organize the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III) meeting, which was crucial to the success of APEC 2025 in Seoul.
Ambassador Choi Young Sam highlighted that, with the active efforts and support of VCCI, in 2025, Vietnam-Korea economic ties had achieved numerous amazing successes. The two nations' bilateral commerce hit a record-breaking US$94.5 billion. Especially, South Korea remained the leading foreign investor in Vietnam.

It is anticipated that the two nations will continue to improve their cooperative connection in 2026 by branching out into new areas. Mr. Choi Young Sam underlined that the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam will continue to foster high-level discussions between the two nations. He expects that VCCI will keep working together to develop significant and practical initiatives that will result in real collaboration outcomes in a number of new areas, including nuclear power, research and technology, climate change response, and digital transformation.
Speaking during the meeting, VCCI President Ho Sy Hung confirmed that the relationship between Vietnam and Korea is improving, particularly in light of Party General Secretary To Lam's visit to Korea the previous year.
The president of the VCCI also stated that he would want to continue getting close support in business support and bilateral business collaboration from South Korea's business associations and the Korean ambassador to Vietnam. Therefore, he underlined the necessity of putting in place additional events like business forums, business meetings, and other initiatives to make the relationships between the two nations' top officials more tangible.
In addition, VCCI President Ho Sy Hung proposed to conduct a Vietnam-Korea Business Forum during the impending visit of the South Korean President to Vietnam. The two sides could also consider arranging a second Vietnam-Korea Business Summit, as well as business networking events between VCCI and KCCI and other relevant Korean organizations.
“In the future, both sides need to focus more on direct support activities and promoting effective business cooperation between enterprises of the two countries. Both parties need to find new cooperation models that yield more tangible results, and activities already implemented should be continued," said VCCI President.

This initiative is now in its beginning phases of development, and VCCI expects to obtain attention and cooperation from the Korean Ambassador as well as related organizations.
In order to improve ties between the two nations' business communities, encourage more efficient investment and business operations, and align with Vietnam's and Korea's future development paths, representatives from Korean business associations like KOCHAM, KCCI, and KBIZ also presented proposals for cooperation in particular areas during the meeting.
