The Business Forum Magazine respectfully publishes the speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Sy Hung, VCCI President at this Summit.

"I am honored to represent the VCCI to deliver the opening speech at the 8th US-Vietnam Business Summit, an important annual event to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Please allow me to express my sincere thanks to Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son for taking the time to attend and deliver a keynote speech at today's Conference. His presence not only demonstrates the deep concern and strong commitment of the Vietnamese Government in accompanying the business community, but also serves as a great encouragement for US investors and businessmen who are actively contributing to the development of the Vietnamese economy.

After seven conferences, we can be proud of the very encouraging results that have been achieved. From the business community's perspective, the confidence of US investors in the business environment in Vietnam has been increasingly strengthened; the scale of bilateral trade has grown impressively, making the US a leading trade partner of Vietnam. US investors have had deep connections with local businesses in the supply chain. Many US big techs such as Apple, Intel, Amkor, Boeing, AES... have been expanding their investments, forming extensive value chains and creating hundreds of thousands of high-quality jobs in Vietnam.

For the Government, the Summit has become an important forum to convey the messages of the leaders of the two Governments to the business community, and at the same time a substantive dialogue to help the Government listen to and absorb the proposals of businesses, thereby perfecting policies and creating a more favorable business environment. It also plays a strong bridge role, contributing to deepening the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

This morning (November 12), the VCCI in collaboration with the AmCham and the US Chamber organized the 8th US-Vietnam Business Summit with the theme: "New era of development for mutually beneficial commercial relations".

After more than 2 years of implementing the new cooperation framework, Vietnam's investment and trade relations have officially entered a period of deeper and more substantial development than ever before. For its part, Vietnam has gained a breakthrough growth, with GDP forecast to increase by double digits in the coming years, as a result of a stable macroeconomic foundation, a young population, and a strong integration policy. The Vietnamese government has identified innovation, science and technology, and digital transformation as pillars of growth, the key to improving national productivity and competitiveness. In that context, cooperation between Vietnamese and US enterprises is particularly important. This is the time for the two economies to look to the future together - the future of technology, innovation, clean energy, and sustainable development.

Overview of the US-Vietnam Business Summit 2025

On the occasion of today's Summit, VCCI expects that enterprises of the two countries will continue to expand substantive cooperation, effectively exploit opportunities in strategic and high value-added fields, taking use of the advantages of both sides such as high technology, semiconductor technology, AI, digital transformation, clean energy, circular economy, manufacturing industry, pharmaceuticals... which are concretized by steady growth in turnover as well as acceleration in disbursed investment capital in both quantity and quality. I respectfully call on US businesses and investors to continue to believe in Vietnam's prospects, accompany us on the journey of transformation and development, with specific projects so that each project, each new cooperation is a vivid demonstration of the friendship, trust and common vision between the two countries.

For the two governments, VCCI expects that both sides will continue to maintain a stable, transparent, predictable trade environment, on the basis of fairness and in accordance with international commitments. At the same time, both sides should strengthen policy dialogue, coordinate timely handling of issues on tariffs, trade standards and technical barriers, thereby creating more favorable conditions for business cooperation, bringing practical benefits to both economies.

VCCI always believes that trust and strategic vision are key components of Vietnam-US collaboration, in addition to trade and investment. That trust has been cultivated through many years of sincere cooperation, sharing benefits towards common prosperity.

VCCI is committed to accompanying AmCham and the US Chamber to continue to promote its role as a reliable bridge between the Governments and the business community of the two countries, proactively promoting new cooperation initiatives, supporting US businesses to connect more deeply with local partners, and together building a transparent, stable, and highly socially responsible investment and business ecosystem”.
