This was discussed at a recent meeting between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and a Utah business delegation led by Mr. Dustin Daugherty, representative of the World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah). VCCI Secretary General Tran Thi Lan Anh expressed her appreciation for Utah’s interest in collaborating with Vietnamese businesses and hoped that the visit would pave the way for more opportunities in areas of mutual benefit.

Mr. Dustin Daugherty stated that Vietnam’s priority sectors such as high technology, tourism, mining, and education matched well with Utah’s strengths as one of the fastest-growing economies in the U.S. He believed that VCCI and Utah had many prospects for expanding their cooperation. Utah businesses also showed their interest in education cooperation with Vietnam, especially in postgraduate education, vocational training and English teaching. Utah is home to many prestigious universities such as Brigham Young University, the third-largest private university in the United States. VCCI Secretary General Tran Thi Lan Anh said that Vietnam’s education market was quite open and welcomed more education partners from developed countries like the United States in the future.

At the meeting, she added that VCCI President Pham Tan Cong, as the chairman of ABAC Vietnam, will lead a business delegation to attend the ABAC 4 Meeting and join ABAC dialogues with APEC economic leaders and the APEC CEO Summit 2023 in November in San Francisco. VCCI plans to host the Vietnam- U.S. Business Forum and hopes that Utah will send a representative delegation to attend this important event.
