VCCI, Cambridge University Strengthen Educational Collaboration

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), expressed his hope that Cambridge University will broaden its educational and training cooperation in Vietnam, with a particular emphasis on business leadership training.

At the reception of the Cambridge University working delegation led by Dr. Vibhuti Patel, Senior Associate Director of Southeast Asia and Australia, Cambridge University, and with the attendance of BritCham Chairman Christopher Jeffery, VCCI Vice President Vinh expressed high regard for the esteemed reputation and quality of education provided by Cambridge University. He noted the keen interest among many Vietnamese individuals, encompassing both students and the business community, in pursuing research and study at the University of Cambridge.

Mr. Vinh acknowledged the significant contributions of the Cambridge alumni community in Vietnam, noting that many Vietnamese individuals educated at the University of Cambridge occupy important roles in government agencies and businesses.

In terms of the potential and opportunities for future educational cooperation between the United Kingdom and Vietnam, Mr. Vinh expressed his hope that Cambridge University will deepen its involvement in business leadership training, scientific research and academic exchange.

Specifically, Vinh hoped that Cambridge University will provide suitable training programs for Vietnamese businesses, helping improve governance and operation capabilities of business leaders. At the same time, VCCI is eager to collaborate with the University of Cambridge on scientific research pertaining to business and economic development. Furthermore, VCCI aims to facilitate the participation of Vietnamese students in scholarship and academic exchange programs with Cambridge University.

Mr. Vinh pledged his support for the University of Cambridge’s ongoing research and expansion of cooperation in Vietnam, hoping that the two sides will soon promote memorandums of understanding (MOUs) or coordinated business training programs.

Dr. Vibhuti Patel highly appreciated VCCI's role in supporting business development and acting as a conduit for foreign investment flows into Vietnam and expressed his desire to cooperate with VCCI to develop suitable educational programs for Vietnam. He revealed that an institute under the University of Cambridge will be established to provide sustainable leadership training in the near term and will be ready to welcome and cooperate with VCCI and Vietnamese business leaders.

The cooperation between VCCI and the University of Cambridge is expected to help improve the quality of human resources for Vietnamese businesses and promote Vietnam’s socioeconomic development.
