Vietnam, Philippines Advancing Robust Economic Ties

In an effort to bolster economic and diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Vietnam, Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam, Meynardo Montealegre, led a Philippine delegation to conduct visit and working session with Mr. Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on December 21.

This meeting, held at the VCCI headquarters in Hanoi, was to deepen economic cooperation between the two nations and explore opportunities for enhancing trade and investment. During the discussions, Ambassador Meynardo Montealegre commended Vietnam's impressive economic growth and expressed confidence in broadening cooperation with VCCI to achieve new successes.

VCCI President Pham Tan Cong responded positively, acknowledging the significant roles of both the Philippines and Vietnam within the ASEAN bloc and the region. He pledged support for proposals from the Philippines and committed to seeking new collaborative opportunities.

The visit concluded with strong commitments from both sides to enhance the relationship between the two countries, particularly as they approach the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership in 2025. The collaborative relationship is anticipated to bring forth new opportunities for the business communities and serve as a solid foundation for the sustainable development of both nations.
