Mr. Pham Tan Cong elected as the new VCCI President

Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Secretary of the VCCI Party Union, new VCCI President.

On September 8, 2021, at the 14th Executive Committee Meeting of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Secretary of the VCCI Party Union was elected as new VCCI President for the 6th term, replacing Mr. Vu Tien Loc. 

Previously, on August 7, 2021, the Secretariat of the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee appointed Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Business Sector, as Secretary of the VCCI Party Union for the term 2021-2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Tan Cong pledged to try his best to develop a powerful VCCI, protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese entrepreneur and business community, contributing to the prosperity and happiness of Vietnam.

“The 13th Party Congress stated the country's development goals: joining the group of upper-middle-income countries by 2030 and the group of developed countries by 2045. The new position of the country requires VCCI to have a new vision, a new mission, a new strategy and a new way of operation”, Mr. Pham Tan Cong said.

New VCCI President affirmed: "VCCI today is a national organization representing the community of hundreds of thousands of businesses and business associations in Vietnam. VCCI is also a prestigious and active member of international trade organizations. However, in order for our country to move forward with developed countries by 2045, Vietnam’s entrepreneur and business community must also be on par with those of other countries in all aspects. This is a challenging goal for VCCI ".

Mr. Pham Tan Cong also said that apart from long-term goals, VCCI must pay attention to urgent tasks, of which the immediate one is to help businesses overcome the COVID-19 crisis.

Speaking when transferring the task to the new VCCI President, Mr. Vu Tien Loc - former President of VCCI sincerely thanked the Party Central Committee, Ministries, Sectors for their close cooperation with VCCI. Mr. Loc also expressed his sincere thanks to his predecessors who left valuable inheritances to VCCI, as well as to the VCCI’s Executive Committee, members, and all staff for their contribution to building the VCCI’s brand name.
