Positioning the New Economic Space

According to information from the Quang Tri Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center, under the theme "Quang Tri: New Space - New Opportunities", the Conference on Announcing the Adjusted Provincial Planning Decision and Investment Promotion is scheduled to take place on the afternoon of July 4 at the Provincial Cultural and Cinematic Center (Campus 2, No. 1 Hung Vuong St., Dong Ha City).

The event will be attended by over 500 delegates, including leaders of the Party, State, central ministries and agencies, strategic investors, along with diplomatic corps and local leaders from neighboring countries: Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia.

At the forum, Quang Tri will officially announce the Adjusted Provincial Planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050. This is considered a strategic compass to restructure the geopolitical position, open up new driver spaces, and clearly define the list of key priority projects to attract investment.

The conference is also an open and direct dialogue between the local government and the business community to listen, remove bottlenecks, and establish sustainable partnerships. Through this, it reaffirms a safe and friendly Quang Tri, ready to accompany domestic and foreign investors with a synchronized international trade connectivity infrastructure system and outstanding incentive policies.

At the conference, Quang Tri Province will hand over Decisions on Investment Policy Approval, Investment Registration Certificates, and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to many large-scale projects. Priority projects are focused on the province's 4 key economic pillars, including: energy, logistics, tourism, and green agriculture. These are considered sectors with substantial room for development, aligned with Quang Tri's advantages and sustainable development orientation in the new context.

Spreading the Values of Peace and Aspirations for Growth

Alongside strong economic commitments, the cultural roots of this sacred land will be spotlighted through the Opening Ceremony of the Festival for Peace 2026 under the theme "From Memory to the Future - Quang Tri for Peace".

Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Tan stated that Quang Tri - a land that once suffered some of the greatest pain and loss during the war - is now rising to become a meeting point for connection, reconciliation, and spreading a global message of peace. No longer a war-torn landscape of bombs and bullets, today's Quang Tri affirms its robust internal strength and aspiration for development based on green, sustainable, and humanistic pillars.

The opening night of the Festival will officially take place at 20:10 on July 4, 2026, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Banks Special National Relic site. This legendary historical space will be vividly recreated using the most advanced performance technologies through a multi-dimensional real-scene stage, connecting the North and South axes across the historic Hien Luong Bridge. The deeply emotional peace bell ritual and a spectacular artistic fireworks display promise to create heart-stirring moments for residents and tourists alike.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong assessed that Quang Tri’s organization of the Festival for Peace has accurately touched upon humanity's greatest shared concern in the context of a modern world facing immense volatility. Painful memories are not meant to deepen hatred, but serve as a valuable spiritual foundation to nurture tolerance, educate on peace, and build a sustainable future for development. The festival is Vietnam's practical contribution to the collective efforts of the international community to promote dialogue and enhance mutual understanding.

Following the success of the inaugural festival, the Festival for Peace 2026 is scaled up with a continuous series of activities lasting from April to December 2026. Previously, many distinctive programs took place successfully, creating a great resonance such as: the Cycling for Peace Festival (April 18 - 19) attracting over 500 domestic athletes and more than 40 international riders; the Trinh Cong Son Music Night "Legendary Mother" (June 20) at Bao Ninh Square, awakening values of compassion and connecting the consciousness of many generations.

The journey to spread the message of peace will continue with the Candlelight Tribute Ceremony commemorating the 79th Invalids and Martyrs' Day across the province and the floating lantern release ritual on the legendary Thach Han River on the evening of July 26.

In the final months of 2026, the momentum will carry forward with a colorful international hot air balloon festival, the National Concert, the "Phong Nha Wild Trail" trail running race, and the "Quang Tri Amazing Marathon" international marathon, along with an art space honoring the world-renowned artist Le Ba Dang, and a series of events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Khe Sanh Coffee brand…
