Quang Tri, once known as a "fire coordination point" and a fierce battlefield, has now flourished from the ashes of war, reviving and rising within a world of peace and integration. Today, the province stands as a symbol of peace and a beacon of developmental aspiration.

Recently, the People's Committee of Quang Tri Province, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, issued the official plan for the Festival For Peace 2026. This event features a diverse and unique series of cultural, sports, and tourism activities designed to honor the values of peace, pay tribute to fallen heroes, and promote the image of Quang Tri’s land and people to international friends.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Quang Tri, the festival aims to spread a deeply humanitarian message of peace while honoring the spirit of solidarity and friendship among domestic citizens and international partners.

Under the theme "From Memory to Future - Quang Tri for Peace," the festival is not only an occasion to commemorate the heroes who sacrificed for national independence but also a platform to educate the younger generation on patriotic traditions. Simultaneously, it serves as a powerful catalyst for brand promotion and tourism attraction, positioning Quang Tri as a premier destination for memory, peace, and unique experiences.

The synergy between historical-cultural values and modern tourism products will not only enhance the destination's appeal but also extend visitor stays and increase spending. Consequently, Quang Tri will gain further opportunities to boost its image, attract investment, and drive socio-economic growth.

In the long term, the Festival For Peace aims to transform Quang Tri into a "Cultural Space for Peace"- a convergence of historical values, culture, and developmental ambition. A defining feature of the 2026 Festival is its extensive scale, spanning from March to December, creating a unique value chain of culture, sports, and tourism. Numerous meaningful activities will be held, including the candle-lighting tribute marking the 79th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026) across the province, and the lantern-floating ceremony on the Thach Han River. The grand opening ceremony will take place at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai Banks Special National Relic Site. These activities carry deep commemorative weight, fostering national pride and spreading messages of peace, solidarity, and friendship.

Furthermore, a diverse array of events - such as the "Cycling for Peace" day, the Trinh Cong Son music night themed "Legendary Mother," light and food festivals, hot air balloon performances, the "Phong Nha Wild Trail 2026," and the "Quang Tri Amazing Marathon" - will be organized. Alongside these, an exhibition by artist Le Ba Dang and activities celebrating the 100th anniversary of Khe Sanh Coffee will provide a rich and captivating experience for visitors throughout the year.
