Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh introduces the book “Vietnam Real Estate For Foreigners”

This is the latest book written by author Doan Van Binh, which was just published in early November 2024. The book content includes useful information about Vietnam (20 items) and systematization, analysis, and updates of the latest legal regulations of the 2024 Law on Land, the 2023 Law on Housing, the 2023 Law on Real Estate Business, Decrees and Circulars issued under these 3 Laws, and the latest documents related to the real estate sector in Vietnam. The book is organized in an easy-to-understand way. It, especially, summarized the procedures for buying, leasing, and investing real estate in Vietnam for foreigners through 4 main products on the market: housing, industrial parks, offices for leasing, and tourism real estate.

The book is published in Vietnamese - English bilingual version, so it is useful not only for foreigners but also a valuable reference for Vietnamese individuals, organizations, and enterprises who want to study, invest, and find foreign partners in the real estate sector of Vietnam...

Sharing the reasons for writing this book, Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh affirmed:

“ Making a book needs a lot of efforts. However, we always think: Our country is very beautiful and has much potential for development in the New Era—the Era for the Nation’s Rising.

In terms of foreign affairs, from being isolated status, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries and signed Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with 32 countries, including 5 countries that are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and with economies of the 7 most developed industrial countries (G7).

In terms of open economy, to date, Vietnam has trade ties with over 220 countries and territories, with trade turnover in 2023 reaching 683 billion USD (surplus of 28 billion USD); the first 10 months of 2024 reaching USD 647.87 billion; in which export reached USD 335.59 billion, import reached USD 312.28 billion (surplus USD 23.31 billion) and trade turnover could reach a record of nearly USD 800 billion this year (approaching a figure nearly double GDP); With 17 free trade agreements (FTAs), total foreign direct investment (FDI) reached nearly USD 450 billion, with more than 41,000 projects from more than 143 countries and territories, Vietnam has become an important link in the supply chain of the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

In terms of overseas Vietnamese in the world, Vietnam currently has over 6 million overseas Vietnamese in 130 countries. Many of them maintain strong ties with their homeland and aspire to contribute to the nation’s growth.”

Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh added that "we need to exploit all the potential from the above-stated advantages and achievements to develop the country. If one more foreign individual or organization knows, learns about, and invests in a real estate product or a real estate project, Vietnam will have one more friend, one more "ambassador", more cash flow, jobs, production chain activation, on-site export... From now on, the real estate industry needs to contribute more practically and efficiently in the New Era of Vietnam.

In addition, as I am in charge of international relations and FDI of VNREA, I always want to do something timely and effectively so that international friends and partners know the most about our association and about Vietnam real estate. Therefore, although making a book is hard and costly, there is always motivation for me to try. According to the National Political Publishing House, in the context of globalization and international integration, the demand for owning assets abroad is increasing, and Vietnam has become an attractive destination for international investors. The factors, including stable political institutions, an impressive economic growth rate, modern infrastructure being invested heavily, and a young and dynamic population, along with legal policies on investment and real estate business in an open direction to foreign investors, are the basis for attracting foreign capital to invest in the Vietnamese real estate market. However, to be successful in the field of real estate investment in a new market, foreign investors need to master specialized knowledge, understand legal regulations, and seize potential investment opportunities in Vietnam.

Over the years, the Fund For Bright Future has presented gift for over 34,500 cancer patients, carried cancer examination and screening for 79.000 persons, and gave medicine to 1.400 patients in difficult circumstances, including many children. The contributions of the author Doan Van Binh in particular and other philanthropists in general are significant, inspiring, and helping the Fund reach more patients in need.

After the event, the after-tax income from the book and other author’s published books is to be donated to the Fund for supporting cancer patients who are facing hardship.

Dr. Nguyen Van Khoi, the President of VNREA, commented that the book was published with the aim of providing comprehensive and detailed guidance for foreigners to buy, lease, and invest in Vietnam real estate. The book is also a useful handbook for the association, organizations, individuals, members of the association, and domestic enterprises to refer to, guide, promote, and cooperate with foreigners to invest in the Vietnamese real estate market.

In the context of new laws that have just been amended and implemented synchronously and comprehensively, creating momentum for the development of the Vietnamese real estate market, it is very necessary to systematize the processes and procedures for investing in Vietnamese real estate, helping foreigners to access the Vietnam market more easily.

In the past two years, Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh has donated copies of his books to all 63 provinces and cities, the National Library, and 44 universities across the country, as well as to international libraries, partners, and friends.

This book was launched on the occasion of Vietnam Teacher’s Day, November 20th, with the hope of spreading practical knowledge to students. Recently, as a member of University Counsil of Hanoi University (HANU) and a visiting lecturer at several major universities, Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh has shared his knowledge and experiences on real estate investment, business, real estate legal regulations, and tourism and gave the books to hundreds of students, postgraduate students.

At the book launch ceremony, Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh donated 200 million VND to the Fund for Bright Future and affirmed that all after-tax income from the book is to be donated to the Fund. Dr. Binh’s book “The World in My Eyes” published in June 2024 has already contributed 400 million VND to the Fund, and more income is increasing thanks to readers' support in purchasing the book.

After the event, the after-tax income from the book will be donated to the Fund For Bright Future to support cancer patients who are facing hardship.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Khoi, President of the Vietnam Real Estate Association, and Dr. Lawyer Doan Van Binh presented copies of the book to the Association’s Standing Committee members, leaders of various organizations, and special guests.
