FDI enterprises are looking for domestic supporting industry suppliers

This annual activity is coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City Industrial and Export Processing Zones (HEPZA) and the High-Tech Park Management Board (SHTP).

Speaking at the opening of the event, M. Le Huynh Minh Tu, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the conference was organized to create conditions for supporting industrial enterprises to link up to carry out processing contracts, increasing access to partners, domestic and foreign industrial production enterprises and investors, expanding markets, gradually participating in the global supply chain.

Through six times of organization, the conference has updated market demand, new production technology, and new standards from buyers who are FDI and terminal industrial production enterprises with localization needs, expanding supply chains, and developing global value production chains.

SFS 2023 has the participation of 22 FDI enterprises and industrial manufacturing enterprises as buyers, including Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., Techtronic Tools Vietnam Co., Ltd. (TTI), Nextern Vietnam Co., Ltd., Fujikura Fiber Optics Vietnam Co., Ltd., Nidec Powertrain System Vietnam Co., Ltd., Mabuchi Motor Viet Nam Co., Ltd.…

In addition to the familiar representatives who have appeared in previous years' supplier search conferences, SFS 2023 also has new representatives from the U.S., Korea and Vietnam, such as Sharp Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. Won Seal Tech LLC, Trung Nam Electronics Manufacturing Service Joint Stock Company, Konica Minolta Company Limited, Dien Quang High Technology Company Limited, Thaco Mechanical Complex Company Limited.

Twenty-two businesses with more than 350 components need to find domestic suppliers in the following industries: electricity, electronics, mechanical engineering, precision engineering, 3D on carbon material, robotics and automation, factory automation, automatic transmission equipment, and industrial automation.

According to the organizing committee, FDI and terminal industrial manufacturing enterprises have selected and confirmed that they will contact about 100 Vietnamese supporting industry suppliers with the potential to participate in the supply chain, with more than 500 face-to-face and online connections scheduled.

Mr. Tran Ba Linh, Production Director of Dien Quang High Technology Company, shared two main goals when participating in SFS 2023: finding customers and expanding suppliers. Previously, when participating in SFS 2022, Dien Quang found over ten suppliers, and at this year's program, the company wants to continue to expand and diversify its supplier portfolio.
