During the meeting, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong underscored the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Poland. He also praised Poland’s role in aiding Vietnam’s post-war economic recovery by training generations of Vietnamese, many of whom have become successful entrepreneurs and key figures in Vietnam.

He highlighted Vietnam as a safe, attractive investment destination for global corporations and emphasized its strong economic growth, aiming for 8% GDP this year, creating vast opportunities for Vietnam-Poland collaboration.

Welcoming more Polish businesses, he encouraged Vietnamese firms to expand into Poland, emphasizing Poland’s strengths in food, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, and mining, which align with Vietnam’s large market. Meanwhile, Vietnam is investing in infrastructure, energy, IT and high-tech agriculture, including its growing role in the global semiconductor supply chain with partners like the U.S., Taiwan and South Korea, opening up new opportunities for cooperation.

He also affirmed Poland as a priority partner in Central Europe, with Vietnam equally valued by Poland as a key Southeast Asian partner. Representing over 200,000 member enterprises, VCCI pledged to bridge trade and investment between the two nations, with Vietnam serving as a gateway to ASEAN’s 680 million consumers, while Poland provides favorable access to Central Europe. VCCI stands ready to collaborate with the Polish Embassy and agencies to support Polish firms exploring opportunities in Vietnam.

On the Polish side, Chairman of the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group Napieralski expressed admiration for the strong development of bilateral relations, which are rooted in a long-standing tradition of political, educational and economic cooperation. He pledged to strengthen business ties, especially in healthcare and defense, to boost economic and trade relations. Praising Vietnam’s stable, business-friendly environment and key role in ASEAN, he highlighted the shared values of self-reliance and solidarity amid global instability. He also affirmed Polish businesses’ strong interest in partnering with Vietnam.

Mr. Napieralski highlighted tourism cooperation, noting a surge in Polish visitors to Vietnam. He proposed easing visa policies, including visa waivers for Polish citizens, to boost exchanges, investment and market exploration by Polish entrepreneurs. He also sought deeper collaboration in production and distribution, especially in Vietnam’s thriving electric vehicle sector, to enhance Vietnamese product penetration in Poland.

Poland is ramping up investments in Vietnam, focusing on processing industries and pharmaceuticals, led by a standout project from Adamed Group. Bilateral trade in 2024 hit US$3.4 billion, with Vietnam exporting computers, phones, textiles, footwear and agricultural products like coffee, pepper, cashews and seafood to Poland, while importing machinery, pharmaceuticals, dairy, chemicals and salmon. To celebrate 75 years of diplomatic ties, both nations will host cultural events, exhibitions, film weeks, and trade and investment promotion activities.
