With 1,039 delegates from over 100 countries, the FIATA World Congress 2025 set a record
This was shared by Mr. Turgut Erkeskin - President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), at the FIATA World Congress 2025 press conference this morning (October 8).

Speaking at the press conference, the FIATA President said that the FIATA World Congress 2025 has just set two records. "The first record in the Federation's 99-year history was that there were more than 1,000 delegates in attendance (at the FIATA World Congress 2025, there were 1,039 delegates from more than 100 countries); the second record was that the press conference at the FIATA World Congress 2025 had more journalists than any of the Federation's major programs," said the FIATA President.
At the same time, he would like to express FIATA's thanks to the press and social media for their participation in the FIATA's events.

At the meeting, many press agencies also asked questions to FIATA representative about market potential, development opportunities of Vietnam's logistics industry, the challenging impacts of technology, US reciprocal taxes, and the industry's adaptation in the context of the global supply chain...
Responding to questions from the press and media, FIATA representative said that Vietnam still has a lot of potential and advantages in developing the logistics industry, and in recent years, it has been one of the bright spots in the global supply chain when import and export doubled, ranking first in the Top 20 in general import and export, and receiving strong attention from many partners around the world.
One of the sectors that society and young people are currently interested in is logistics. Compared to many other majors, logistics majors at many universities have extremely high entrance scores.
Vietnam's logistics costs are indeed relatively high, around 16-17% of GDP, placing them above the global and ASEAN averages, although the exact figure can vary by assessment. The government is taking steps to improve the system, aiming to reduce costs to 12-15% of GDP by 2035 to boost national competitiveness.
Additionally, while Vietnam's ranking has dropped, its performance has remained unchanged. Vietnam must also keep improving its rating with several solutions if it hopes to make it to the Top 20.
Responding to the issue related to the impacts of AI, the FIATA representative said that applying technology to the logistics industry brings both opportunities and challenges. In particular, in terms of opportunities, AI will help increase productivity and reduce labor in unnecessary stages. In terms of challenges, currently, with the characteristics of 90-95% being small and medium enterprises, it will be difficult to apply it to operations.
FIATA representative also said that at FIATA World Congress 2025, the FIATA will also focus on many important issues that receive social attention in order to create transparency and enhance the sense of responsibility of members in the new trade context.
